Among the reasons for the growth in registrations of recreational vehicles there is certainly also the possibility of continuing to travel in complete safety from the health point of view, thus avoiding contacts that in times of pandemic can expose you to more risks. In many cases, these vehicles can represent a real second home where you can live in complete relaxation, with all the comforts and maybe even immersed in nature.

In any case Federpneus, the National Association of Tire Specialist Dealers, with the warm season approaching that invites you to travel, recommends that all owners of caravans and campers carry out scrupulous checks on the condition of the vehicle before putting it back into action. Often, in fact, these vehicles remain stationary for very long periods in the winter months and then are taken back to be used for even quite long journeys. “Before setting off, it is therefore advisable to check the conditions of the vehicle – they explain to Federpneus – focusing in particular on the tires, which could deteriorate after a long period of parking. Punctual tire maintenance allows you to travel safely, but also to reduce fuel consumption and polluting emissions.

Federpneus therefore recommends checking the wear of the tires, the presence of cuts or abrasions on the tread and, above all, the inflation pressure, avoiding the use of “do it yourself” for these checks and always contacting a specialist dealer. “. Although it may seem trivial, these tips represent an indispensable safety measure both for campers and for all motorists in general, including motorcyclists. (maurilio rigo)
