On the evening of May 5, the Shen Yun New York Art Troupe gave the audience its first performance at the Palais des Congrès de Paris. This is Shen Yun’s third performance in Paris this year.
Famous sculptor admires Shen Yun for delivering peace
On the evening of May 5, the famous French Japanese sculptor Tetsuo Harada and his wife Annie Harada watched the Shen Yun performance together. He expressed that he felt that the performance brought a message of peace.
Tetsuo Harada is known for carving monumental granite or marble sculptures. From Japan to Europe, he took root in France in 1973, and he has been sculpting throughout his life. A documentary film documenting his work “Harada, sculpter pour la paix” (Harada, sculpter pour la paix) has recently premiered and will be shown in more than 100 theaters across France.
Mrs. Annie introduced, “My son lives in Hong Kong, and he told us to come to this show and support this art that cannot continue in China. This is the reason why we are here tonight.”
Harada praised: “The performance is wonderful, beautiful and relaxing, they (the dancers) need a good softness.”
Shen Yun uses traditional techniques to make, and Harada appreciates: “I think it is a combination of traditional and modern techniques, especially the production of those dynamic images (sky curtains), which are very interesting. They are in the dance, and they suddenly disappear, and they still fly. Now, these effects are achieved through modern technology.”
The dimensional effect brought by Shen Yun’s dynamic sky curtain makes Harada intoxicated. “It makes people full of fantasy, like entering another time and space, which is very interesting.” He said.
In the performance, Harada was particularly touched by the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. “What is happening today (persecution, repression) is heartbreaking, such as what the Uyghurs are experiencing in today’s China. These make me sad.”
“It’s a story of balance in the world, it’s very fragile, so I made some statues of peace, for peace,” said Harada, who felt the show brought a message of peace and universal values to the show. Feel the resonance, “The earth, the world, it is a whole, there is only one.”
Art Marketing Director: Admire Shen Yun and Support Shen Yun
Annie Harada, wife of Tetsuo Harada (Tetsuo Harada), is a marketing director for sculptures, paintings and other artworks, and has 30 years of experience in international large-scale projects in the industry.
She praised Shen Yun, “It’s definitely a magnificent performance, very beautiful, very harmonious, rich in color, full of energy, and the music is very beautiful and beautiful. It’s really pleasing and wonderful.”
Annie believes: “The quality of the performance is excellent, the performance attracts a lot of audience, the seats are full, and it is difficult to buy tickets. It is my son who said we must come to this performance because it is banned in China. Let’s go to Paris.”
Shen Yun showcases the 5,000-year-old orthodox Chinese culture. Annie said, “This is China. It’s a pity that (the Chinese) have gone through some difficult times, but seeing this performance is really otherworldly.” Annie said, “In many ways, We have a lot of respect, admiration and love for China.”
“It’s a great mission and we should support and continue to watch shows like this, she’s amazing, and that’s why so many people are here tonight, and they all know they’re going to continue to support.”
From an international perspective, Annie expressed her personal opinion: “Chinese people have rich abilities, we make some sculptures in China, which we can’t do here, we cooperate with some enterprises and find that they have traditional art, culture and Other aspects of ability, such as the (Chinese classical) dance that we saw tonight still exist, we are also looking for those arts that can inherit some of the arts that we don’t understand. On an artistic level like Shen Yun, yes, indeed, we have to continue to support her by her side.”
Art is often inspired by belief in God, which Annie resonates deeply, “Of course, it’s very important, we all have these values, connecting with nature, the universe, ecology and life, it’s extremely important, I know China has always shared its Buddhist thoughts, and now what we see (in the performance) is very profound, belief and respect for nature, which are very profound, and we like it.”
Annie felt that the show “brought us peace” and that “art is there to continue to bring people together in love, friendship, beauty, sharing, and that’s what art exists for”. “Art is borderless, like a bird, without borders, free to express and express emotions. Shen Yun is here, that is to say: yes, we go on, we express ourselves, it’s all beautiful things.”
Flute musician: watching Shen Yun feels a kind of sublimation
Nels Lindeblad is a flute musician who was born at the National School of Music and Dance (CNSM) in Paris in the 1970s. In his more than 40 years of musical career, he has participated in different large symphony orchestras and solos. Member of the Philharmonic Orchestra (Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France) and has won many awards.
After watching Shen Yun’s performance, he said: “I feel a kind of sublimation, at least we are like this, intoxicated by it, and at the same time feeling very comfortable, (getting away from the trivial things of life) to breathe a sigh of relief.”
“Shen Yun has taken us to a higher place, like entering the real world.” Lindeblad praised, “We are completely fascinated, it is so wonderful, it is extremely beautiful, the program about plum blossoms is really unique, and it is overwhelming. Do! We are really intoxicated.”
The performance showed the connotation of Chinese divine culture. Lindeblad said: “We have forgotten all the troubles. This is only the most superficial feeling. There are indeed some more grand feelings. We can take a deep breath and feel very good.”
Regarding Shen Yun’s mission, Lindeblad said with admiration: “Let me say that beauty should save the world, and Shen Yun is the proof. She has made us better.”
From a musical point of view, Lindeblad praised that the music of Shen Yun Live Orchestra is “full of light, beauty, no doubt, very healing”.
He finally said, “I recommend (Shen Yun) to everyone!”
