The president of Ecuador dissolved Congress

The President of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, decreed this Wednesday the dissolution of Congress due to a “serious political crisis” that will give way to early elections.

The president, who is facing a political trial for an alleged embezzlement, ordered “to dissolve the National Assembly due to a serious political crisis and internal commotion,” says the document released by the presidency.
