Thus the Tesla pickup turns into a camper

by admin

ROME – Great news for lovers of traveling by camper. The Cybertruck, or the visionary electric pick-up designed by Tesla owner Elon Musk, whose series production is scheduled for the end of 2021, could also turn into a comfortable house on wheels. The idea came to a group of designers who created the concept of a special housing module, called CyberLandr, developed specifically to transform Tesla’s pick-up into a practical and comfortable camper.

The CyberLandr living cell has been developed to adapt perfectly to the vehicle floor, so as not to negatively affect its aerodynamics and minimize range problems. The CyberLandr module provides a compact living space that includes a full kitchen, sleeping area for four and a separate bathroom. The kitchen has a large sink equipped with an intelligent, manual, touchless and voice controlled tap, with an “invisible” induction hob located under the porcelain worktop. The living room is equipped with home automation technology to easily control temperature and lighting via voice or app.

There is also a smart TV and a surround sound system. Plus, the StarLink satellite dish provides high-speed Internet so you can hold Zoom conferences, receive emails, and work from virtually anywhere. The seats are reclining and independent. In the bedroom, the seats transform into a queen size camper bed, while another bed at the counter offers enough space for two children or an adult. Double glazed windows feature electrochromic blackout for privacy. The bathroom instead has a porcelain stoneware floor with built-in heating; recirculating shower, to avoid running out of water, spa-style shower head with 5 flow patterns and self-cleaning toilet with dry drain. The camper will also be equipped with a state-of-the-art alarm system. At the end of April, shortly after CyberLandr was unveiled, co-founder Bill French said that 1,000 reservations had already been collected for the housing unit, with a potential revenue of about $ 50 million if they all turned into sales.

By making a reservation you can take advantage of a discount on the list price. Those who have paid a deposit of $ 5,000 will be able to purchase the CyberLandr at a price of about $ 40,000, while those who advance $ 1,000 can have it for $ 43,995 and for those who have paid only 100 the price starts at $ 44,995. On the other hand, if the CyberLandr is expected to be mass-produced, the cost rises to $ 49,995. Apparently Elon Musk also liked the new housing module, who responded with a “ cool ” (cool) to a tweet from the Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley group about the prototype. An encouraging comment for the Cyberlandr team, which hopes for support from the Tesla boss. The designers are currently looking for a facility in Texas in which to produce the compact, convertible RV. The idea is to open a store near Gigafactory Texas, so that the camper can be installed on the Cybertrucks that have just left the factory.
