LOS ANGELES (AFP) Drummer Taylor Hawkins has died at the age of 50, members of the American rock group Foo Fighters said in a statement today.
“The UFO family is devastated to learn of the tragic passing of our dear Hawkins,” the multi-Grammy-winning group said in a statement on Twitter.
“His musical spirit and infectious smile will always be with us all,” the statement added, without revealing the cause of Hawkins’ death.
The UFOs were expected to perform at the Estereo Picnic festival in Colombia’s capital Bogota today. Organisers issued a statement saying the show would not go ahead as usual.
