VISIONS OF ATLANTIS take their listeners on a symphonic adventure with their new studio album “Pirates II – Armada”, which will be released on July 5, 2024 via Napalm Records. It is the successor to their successful album Pirates (2022) and presents the work of the multinational symphonic metal band on a whole new level. With the second chapter of their Pirates saga, VISIONS OF ATLANTIS prove that they are more than ready to conquer the top of symphonic metal.
Today the crew around their queen Clèmentine Delauney and the courageous captain Michele Guaitoli presents their first single, the title track “Armada”, which takes the listener into the fantastic world of VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, which is impressively visualized by an elaborately staged official music video . This is a first taste of an album on which the band appears darker and harder than ever before, displaying the predatory attitude of an entire pirate army. A new day is dawning. The wind is on our side. The sea is marked by past battles, the fresh sea breeze tastes of salt. Hypocrisy, greed, envy – the hearts of the world are finally revealing their deluded truth! Those who once led are losing ground beneath their feet. Their lies are getting worse and the darkness continues to advance! Every day, no matter how sunny, carries an impending storm. Nature tests us for the final battle.
As pirates, we are the counterpart to the old powers. Free in spirit and courageous in heart. We brave all the storms that try to make us doubt. We see the light in the darkness. Old truths are fading and it’s time to write new stories. Destiny lies in our hands, our hearts, and in every step we take. Because we are in harmony with ourselves, we can reach for the essence of life that we share with all creatures. As one, unstoppable, deeply connected to the truth, sun, storm and tide guide us. The sea is ours; every street, every house. We will spread hope everywhere. Our pirate cries will last for centuries. Our descendants will hum our tunes and our words will be sung in the new world we have created. Our legacy lives on forever. We are one force, one army – united under the last ARMADA!
Emotions, depth and an impressive sound. VISIONS OF ATLANTIS deliver a masterpiece with PIRATES II – ARMADA and invite listeners to join their “Armada”. On the way they meet “monsters” who confront them with their inner demons. The title “Tonight I’m Alive” impresses with its gripping rhythm, which is perfect for a celebration on the eve of battle and also proves that VISIONS OF ATLANTIS are at the peak of their abilities. The fiery “Hellfire” first draws the listener into a trance-like spell, before the delicate sounds of “Underwater” curb the eternal flames somewhat and calm them down with delicate melodies. The over 7-minute masterpiece “The Dead of the Sea” catapults the listener into the middle of a battle on the high seas, where the salty smell of the sea mixes with the deadly smell of cannons and is accompanied by theatrical orchestral passages, while at the end “Ashes to the Sea”, based on the previous track, gives time to mourn the losses.
