After not obtaining a salary proposal according to what was requestedthe three municipal unions of Cipolletti joined together to carry out a 72-hour strike. The retention of tasks began this Wednesday, affecting the majority of municipal services. In a joint statement, the three unions announced that given “the silence of Buteler’s management regarding the different proposals made over the last four monthsit was decided to unify the claims and decree 72 hours of retention of services in all areas of the municipality of Cipolletti starting Wednesday at 00.

Marcelino Jara, union secretary of Soyem, explained on RÍO NEGRO RADIO that the force measure affects “waste collection, procedures related to municipal taxes, licenses, food science, children’s and community centers.”

According to the unions, the measures strength will “harden as the weeks go by and if the executive’s silence continues.”

The last salary agreement was for bonuses between 70 thousand pesos and 100 thousand pesos in a payment depending on the category and a reinforcement, also non-remunerative between 10 thousand and 20 thousand pesos for April. In addition, the Executive promised to add a percentage of the increase to the base in April. Only Sitramuci accepted the proposal and with that rubric the municipality closed the joint venture until May.

Buteler’s response to the municipal claim in Cipolletti

The mayor of Cipolletti Rodrigo Buteler assured that the municipality is not in a position to improve the offer to the unions, but that the dialogue is open to seek a solution to the union conflict

He noted that he understands the situation of the municipal employees, but that the conflict: “It is not a good decision, which only harms the residents of Cipolletti. We hope that through dialogue we can reach an understanding with the unions.”
