A Story of Motivation: 70-Year-Old Mechanic Resumes Medical Studies in Argentina

Luis, a 70-year-old native of Colombia who has been living in Rosario for over 40 years in search of a better future, is defying all odds by returning to his studies at the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of Rosario (UNR). In a recent interview with Telenight (El Tres), Luis shared his inspiring journey of determination and perseverance.

Having initially wanted to study medicine in his home country but facing difficulties, Luis decided to travel to Argentina for a better future. Despite facing homelessness and challenges along the way, he never lost his passion for medicine. Finally, in 2016, he decided to pursue his dream once again and re-enrolled in the medical program.

Luis expressed his gratitude towards the Argentine public education system for giving him the opportunity to continue his studies after all these years. He praised the country for opening its doors to those who come with little to nothing and giving young people the chance to pursue their dreams.

With a heart full of gratitude and determination, Luis is now balancing his work as a mechanic with his studies, proving that it’s never too late to pursue your goals. His story serves as a reminder that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
