After Dad’s year, it’s the summer of online tutoring for school

by admin

What can be considered the most difficult school year ever for students and families has ended, between school closures and Dad. A recent research by Skuola.net has shown that one in four students has resorted to private tutoring, to fill gaps and recover debts, or just improve their preparation for the new school year.

Support lessons have been an additional economic burden for many Italians. Hence the choice of many companies to make online tuition and lessons available to the families of employees, as a form of corporate welfare, to ensure a full recovery of students in view of the new school year.

Among the realities involved there is Schoolr, a Roman startup for online training, born in 2019 and designed for students from elementary school to university, with over two thousand tutors selected to cover more than a thousand subjects. Already in the first months of 2020, the platform had made tutors and digital tools available free of charge for all middle and high school children, who were struggling with distance learning for the first time.

In January 2021 he left Schoolr Program, the homeschooling service, to help the many Italian families who, over the last year, have decided to have their children study at home. Schoolr made available hours of lessons for those companies that have chosen education among the employee benefit proposals. From elementary school to university, hundreds of lessons were held in the platform’s virtual classrooms

For this initiative, the startup worked in partnership with Eudaimon, historical provider of corporate welfare services: in a few weeks they were provided over 600 hours of lessons for the children of employees of the six companies that have included online tutoring services in their welfare plans. In total, there are 4000 hours of lessons organized by Schoolr in the welfare field with various partners.

“In the most difficult and particular year in the history of Italian education since the postwar period, Schoolr was ready to provide support that was as complete and professional as possible, thanks to the experience accumulated in the online lessons sector and the advanced technologies that characterize our platform ”he explains Cristiano Scarapucci, CEO and co-founder of Schoolr. “What remains central to our approach is everyone’s right to education: this is why we are working on launching other services in the fall, which will make private lessons truly affordable for everyone.”
