Albano Carrisi, is one of the most appreciated and important faces of the Italian music scene. For years, generations from grandparents to grandchildren have been singing and dancing, and his successes have filled the Italian charts over the years. Its extraordinary success is due to its particular stamp which made it unique not only in Italy, but all over the world. Over the course of his career he has won 26 gold records and 8 platinum records. From an early age he delighted to play the guitar and to sing little songs and songs of his homeland. He decides to emigrate to Milan in search of fortune, and working in the Lombard capital frequented by celebrities, he has the opportunity to make himself known by the master producer Pino Massara, who invites him to undergo an audition at Celentano-Massara, a production company open to the search for new talents. In 1967 he obtained his first success with the song In the sun that becomes, after the success obtained also a musicarello, and will have as its protagonist him and a young Romina Power: between the two a sentimental bond is created that will later lead, despite the opposition of their respective families.

Pippo Baudo, having dinner in the restaurant where Albano worked, discovered him and immediately saw his talent, so much so that he declared: “I was having dinner at the Dollar, a Milanese restaurant that cost 660 lire, the equivalent of one dollar in fact. Instead of spaghetti, the waiter brought a guitar and began to sing. “What a voice!” I thought. It was Al Bano. During the day he worked at Breda, in the evening at the tables. I told him to come to Rai the next morning ”.

The love that made all Italians dream was that with Romina Power, between the two a great professional understanding and sentimental passion that together produced many musical hits such as Nostalgia Canaglia and Felicità. The children had by the couple are Ylenia, Cristel, Yari Marco and Romina Yr, but the eldest daughter disappeared in still unknown circumstances and told in tears: “The worst thing was that on Tg1 they said that I was hiding my daughter at home to advertise. Ylenia is a constant memory, an always open wound ”.

Albano recounted the disease that struck him and is forced to live with it every day.
