Angelo Pellicanò appointed sub-commissioner for Health in Calabria

CATANIA – The Council of Ministers, yesterday evening, on the proposal of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Daniele Franco, appointed Angelo Pellicanò as sub-commissioner for the implementation of the current plan to recover from the deficits of the health service in the Calabria Region. He will carry out this task with in collaboration with Michele Ametta.

Angelo Pellicanò, born in Reggio di Calabria, 69 years old, was one of the managers of large hospitals and health organizations in Catania. Graduated in medicine and surgery, medical examiner, from 1990 to 1995 he was second level manager at the USL 36 of Catania. From 1995 to 2009 medical director at the “Cannizzaro” hospital in Catania, of which he was then manager. Member of numerous commissions set up by the regional health department and the operational unit of the regional coordination center for patient safety and clinical risk management.
