After the green light from the European Commission to the Irish legislation which equates alcohol to cigarettes, the tam tam on health risks has become heated especially after the statements of the immunologist Antonella Viola, researcher and professor at the University of Padua, who supports Dublin’s choice because it is convinced that, as for cigarettes, the safe dose is zero, so much so that – the immunologist claims in an interview – “those who drink wine have the smallest brain”.
