Apple issues guidelines! MacBook Pro and Pro Display XDR will automatically dim when overheating

by admin

Apple just released a technical support article on February 4, pointing out that the newly launched 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros, as well as the Pro Display XDR, will have the opportunity to display a “limited brightness” warning. In the end, what kind of warning will there be?

The technical support document states that some MacBook Pro and Pro Display XDR users will see the following two logos appear on the Display Menu on the screen. The display screen is operating in low power mode, when the screen is operating in a darker condition.

Apple explained that the main reason for this situation is that the temperature of the use environment is too high, and at the same time, the user works for a long time in fairly light or light conditions. If this happens, Apple recommends that users suspend some applications that use high resources, or reduce the indoor temperature (turn on the fan or air conditioner?), or close some windows with HDR video. Or use XDR Display or Pro Display XDR “reference mode” without having to turn the backlight all the way to the brightest.

If none of the above methods can cool down the system, Apple recommends that you can temporarily rest your MacBook Pro or monitor for 5-10 minutes, and continue working while the machine and people cool down. However, if the environment is under 25 degrees Celsius, and the warning still appears frequently, it is best to find a “genius” to check in the factory.
