Apple M1 Max core real shot, it turns out to hide such a secret, layer by layer? -Qooah

At this year’s Apple conference, we were shocked by the powerful performance of the new generation of MacBook Pro equipped with M1 Pro/Max. At the same time, we are more looking forward to the future M series processors. Recently, some foreign media revealed the internal structure of the M1 Max processor, which may reveal the packaging architecture of the next-generation M processor.

According to a foreign media Tomshardware report, Twitter netizen @VadimYuryev posted a real shot of the core of Apple’s latest processor M1 Max. It is worth mentioning that this is the first time the entire network has shown the true internal structure of the processor. It is very different from the previous renderings officially announced by Apple. You can see from the pictures that there is a larger area on the edge of this processor. Apple does not give an official explanation for the role of this area, even in its rendering. None of the pictures are shown.

According to the user’s guess, when the processor is turned over, it can be connected to the same processor to form a new MCM multi-processor package architecture to further improve performance.

The top configuration of the new Mac Pro is estimated to be composed of 4 M1 Max, 40 CPU cores and 128 GPU cores.

And this kind of speculation has been raised by the media earlier. According to earlier news, Apple is planning to use the self-developed Apple Silicon processor in the next generation of Mac Pro and 27-inch iMac. It is worth noting that the basic model of this processor will consist of 2 M1 Max (M1 Max Duo), and the high-end model will also use 4 M1 Max (M1 Max Quadro).

Apple’s M1 Max processor contains 10 CPU cores and 24 or 32 GPU cores. It is manufactured using TSMC’s 5nm process technology and has 57 billion transistors. If the solution is really feasible, it means that the new generation of processor configuration can be described as quite “luxury”, with at least 20 CPU cores and 64 GPU cores.

It is worth noting that at present, only additional integrated circuits are found on the M1 Max processor, while the M1 Pro is the same as the official rendering.
