Because if the obligation to have a green pass in the workplace starts the day after tomorrow, those who are not vaccinated will already carry on with the swab to be in compliance at the expiry date. But first, it’s important to look at the numbers. Impossible – also for reasons of privacy and databases to be crossed – to know exactly the number of unvaccinated Bergamo workers, it is however realistic to draw an estimate: from several parts – Region, trade unions – it is estimated that it is equivalent to 10% of the workforce .
If the employed in Bergamo are about 482,200 (source Chamber of Commerce, last detailed survey at the end of 2020), it means that today about 50,000 workers have not yet been immunized and therefore – except in the case of a recent recovery from Covid or a specific exemption – from tomorrow they will have to undergo the swab every 48 hours (in the case of a rapid antigen test, the one that is done in a pharmacy, the most common) or every 72 hours (in the case of a molecular test, more expensive, done in specialized centers) . The estimate is slightly rounded upwards also due to a detail: the green certification is “activated” fifteen days after the first dose of the vaccine, so at least at the onset of the green pass only those who have received the first injection within end of September.
