Further confirmation comes from new recognitions for the two-year period 2024-2025 that the Onda Foundation (National Observatory on women’s and gender-related diseases) recently awarded the Maggiore Hospital in Parma, the Vaio Hospital in Fidenza and the Santa Maria Hospital in Borgotaro, as hospital structures that have distinguished themselves at a national level for their ‘offer of services and routes dedicated to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of the main ones pathologies femininebut also to diseases that affect transversally men and women from a gender perspective. In the awards ceremony for the next two years which was held in Rome, the Ospedale Maggiore obtained, for the tenth consecutive year, the maximum number of “pink stickers” (three)while for the Vaio Hospital and the Santa Maria di Borgotaro Hospital the evaluation is rise from one to two “pink stickers”.

For the three hospitals it is a new and further confirmation of the commitment that the professionals ensure in the constant application of diagnostic-therapeutic paths specifically designed for the management, from a gender perspective, of both typically female pathologies and those that transversally affect everyone“, claims the general director of the University Hospital and extraordinary commissioner of the Local Health Authority of Parma, Massimo Fabi.

Three criteria were taken into consideration in assigning the “pink stickers”: the presence of clinical specialties which deal with health problems that are typically female and transversal to the two genders and which require differentiated paths, typology and appropriateness of diagnostic-therapeutic paths and clinical-assistance services from a multidisciplinary perspective gender-oriented; the offer of reception services to support diagnostic-therapeutic pathways (volunteers, cultural mediation and social assistance); and finally, the level of preparation of the hospital facility for the management of victims of physical and verbal violence. The assessment of the hospital facilities by the Onda Foundation and the assignment of the “pink stickers” took place through an application questionnaire made up of approximately 500 questions, each with a pre-established value, divided into 15 specialist areas plus a section dedicated to general services for the reception of women and one at management of cases of violence against women and healthcare workers.

The nominations of the three hospitals, culminating in the new recognitions of the Onda Foundation, were followed by Giovanna Campaniello with the collaboration of Francesca Spagnolimedical director of the management of the ASL company hospital unit and “pink sticker” contact person for the Santa Maria di Borgotaro and Elisa Zanardi of the General Affairs area of ​​the District and of the Fidenza hospital, for which he is the “pink sticker” contact person.
