28/03/2024 – Cutting of the ribbon for the new premises of CAUil assistance and emergency center in Fidenza. The center, open from December 28th last in the premises of the emergency room of the Vaio hospital, will be operational in the new headquarters from Monday 8 April. In the first three months of activity, the CAU of Fidenza recorded 2,673 hits.

“Today’s inauguration is part of a “revolution” that the Emilia-Romagna Region is carrying out with the reorganization of the territorial emergency-urgency system and which sees the distinction between different health needs, those that are urgent and those that require a response in emergency – he has declared Massimo Fabiextraordinary commissioner of the Local Health Authority and general director of the Parma University Hospital – A reorganization that will be completed when the single number 116117 comes into operation. The Fidenza CAU, operational from the end of 2023, has already proven to be a service capable of fulfilling the task for which it was created: responding to urgent needs and not serious, relieving the burden on the emergency room which remains the reference service for emergencies”.

“Fidenza is there as always: the CAU has been built and is one of the few structures in a completely new region. The result, as always, is the result of teamwork and the ability of this area which perceives every objective as an exciting challenge. I thank the health workers, the Local Health Authority, the community of Fidenza which is attentive – he underlined Andrea Massarimayor of the Municipality of Fidenza – Today the Italian citizen cannot help but know that something dramatic is happening in the healthcare sector. Healthcare is heavily underfunded and this is not a contingent condition, but the result of a national political choice. This is dramatic. In Emilia-Romagna we are not well aware of all this, because the Region has not lacked support for projects like this and resources for services. This is not the case in the rest of the country.”

“Activating the Cau to respond to non-urgent needs is a choice that citizens are appreciating throughout the Region with over 110 thousand accesses in the first 4 months of activity, with waiting times on average less than an hour and a level of satisfaction always very positive. Data which is naturally also confirmed in the Parma area, both in the Cau del Maggiore and here in Vaio” – he claims Raffaele DoniniCouncilor for Health Policies for the Emilia-Romagna Region. “We therefore look with confidence to this emergency-urgency reform to guarantee citizens increasingly efficient treatment of non-urgent pathologies, while at the same time allowing the emergency rooms to concentrate their activities only on time-dependent emergencies.”

The professionals of the Local Health Authority were present at the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of the CAU in Fidenza: Pietro Pellegrini, Emilio Cammi, Andrea Deolmi, Antonio Balestrino, Annalisa Volpi, Roberto Fiorini, Giovanni Tortorella, Monica Abbatiello, Antonio Negri, Gabriella Tribelli, Daniela Poliedri, Ornella Guareschi, Andrea Gualerzi and the general practitioner Carlo Toscani; for the municipality of Fidenza: Davide Malvisi, Alessia Frangipane; for the municipality of Busseto: Stefano Nevicati and Milva Furlotti; the regional councilors Pasquale Gerace and Matteo Daffadà; the president of the Fidenza district committee Alessandro Gattara; the volunteers of the local CRI and the operators of the territorial emergency operations centre; the chaplain of the Vaio Hospital Don Carlo Delledonne.
