Cannabis law: It’s not that easy

Cannabis law: It’s not that easy

Today is April 1st. Also Easter Monday, it is written that a dead traveling preacher cheerfully met two of his disciples. A miracle, maybe they were both high too. A perfectly fitting day for the CanG, the cannabis law, to come into force; the internet is full of jokes.

It’s funny: Many people think cannabis is now legal. But that’s not true. Paragraph 2 of the new CanG: It is forbidden to possess, grow, produce, trade cannabis and much more. The law only defines exceptions to this: You can now carry 25 grams of cannabis with you, store 50 grams at home, grow three plants, and there are also controlled cultivation clubs. This doesn’t make cannabis legal, but at least it ends the biggest nonsense: the state stops making fun of them. Threatening millions of people with criminal prosecution simply because they use or possess a drug that is less harmful to adults than alcohol and tobacco is fundamentally simply illogical.
