by admin

Two Fiorentina fans were allegedly arrested in Prague for resisting a public official while another 19 were subjected to identification detention by the Czech police. This is learned from sources in the Florentine police headquarters. If the Czech policemen were to identify other viola supporters involved from watching the footage from the surveillance cameras, more arrests would be triggered.

In the midst of the Fiorentina and West Ham supporters’ party, there were a few moments of tension in the center of Prague, due to an alleged contact between the two fans. The police in riot gear, in the central Piazza San Venceslao, contained and identified a hundred ultras from Fiorentina, evidently held responsible for being part of the group that caused the riots.

According to reports from the Czech police, three West Ham fans were injured in the clashes that took place in a bar in the center of Prague. The story began in the afternoon when, in a bar on Rytirska street, adjacent to the central Wenceslas square, some fans of the two teams came into contact. Some chairs also flew on the street. After the police arrested a dozen people on the spot, specifically in a shoe shop where the fans had entered, others were identified and arrested later. Of the three West Ham fans, two were treated at the scene, one was taken to hospital with a head injury. A policeman was also involved in the scuffle but was not injured. The other members of the group of Fiorentina fans, a few dozen, then moved to Piazza San Venceslao where they were surrounded by police in riot gear and then accompanied to the Fiorentina fan zone, in a park just outside the centre. The episode raised tension after a day spent in a festive atmosphere. According to the Prague police, there were no other violent incidents.
