The Israeli Ministry of Health has detected a combination of Omicron with the BA2 variant for the first time in recent days. The discovery – which the ministry described as “never seen in the world” – concerns two cases of people arriving from abroad in Israel. Their symptoms are mild, the ministry added, and they did not need special medical attention. In an interview on military radio, Professor Salman Zarkacoordinator of the fight against Covid, said that this discovery does not arouse, at least for the moment, a particular alarm.
