Who I am
Simone Oliva of Castellamare di Stabia and Francesca Taddio of Orsomarso in the province of Cosenza, intervened promptly when the young man collapsed to the ground inside the train in cardiac arrest, with no pulse and no breathing.
What happened
“We evaluated obvious signs and symptoms – they tell whoCosenza – and we immediately proceeded to perform cardiac massage, obtaining an unexpected result in just a few minutes: the boy regained consciousness, respiratory activity returned with the resumption of a pulse that was initially feeble and then tachycardic, but apparently in rhythm. The intervention was then completed by notifying the emergency services and waiting for their arrival until the rescue operation was completed. In the meantime we monitored the boy. There was no need to use the defibrillator.”
