European Parliament approves reform of Geographical Indications

The European Parliament approved today with a majority of almost 90% (520 votes in favour, 19 against and 64 abstentions), the new Regulation on Geographical Indications for agri-food products, wines and spirit drinks.
The new Regulation will come into force in the first half of April.
