MANIAGO – The community of Maniago is in mourning not only for the sudden death of the entrepreneur Franco Bargagni, but also for the premature death of Fabrizio Mion, a historian general practitioner, who has treated several generations of people. The professional, who had retired a few years ago, died at the age of 70, due to the complications of a scheduled surgery he had undergone in recent days in Milan. Sudden bacterial infection fatal.

«He was a family doctor for almost 40 years here in Maniago – his friend and colleague Mario Ius traced a memory of him -; he was also a participant in group medicine, together with me and my colleagues Milani and Cerrone; we also set up the so-called community hospital and together we started the “Moma” epidemiological study on obesity and metabolic syndrome, with thousands of patients involved, under the direction of the University of Trieste ». “We were the first to activate the formula of doctors who worked together – reaffirmed, with pride, Ius -: with the group medicine of Montereale we were, in fact, forerunners of health care as is expected with today’s Draghi decree, which will re-establish community hospitals ». “He was a very appreciated doctor – continues Ius, heartbroken by such a sudden loss, also in consideration of the state of health of his colleague, who had no particular pathologies -: a dear friend of all of us, a respectable person who spent his life at service of the community and with devotion to the family ».
Mion leaves behind his wife Antonietta and three children. “We are all close to them and very sorry, after having worked together for many years and having seen with what passion they have always spent themselves for others”.
