The Fun & Fitness of Montecorvino Pugliano has had a strong showing at the Italian spring finswimming category championships in Lignano Sabbiadoro. Led by technical manager Giovanni Scariati, the club placed third in the men’s ranking, tenth in the women’s ranking, and seventh in the general club ranking.

The club’s athletes achieved impressive results, with gold medals for Michele Avallone in the 100 and 200 fins, as well as a silver in the 50 fins. Alessandro Bassi also shone with gold medals in the 100, 200, 400 mono, 400 fins, and 50 freediving. Bassi even set an Italian record in the 50 freediving. Coach Scariati’s athletes also excelled in the relay events, earning four bronze medals.

Notable performances from the team’s women included a silver in the 200m for Gaia Calabrese, as well as strong showings from other members of the team.

The club’s success at the championships highlights the dedication and skill of its athletes, and bodes well for their future in the sport.
