“I get up and break the world every morning.” Milena laughs and a current of energy vibrates in her eyes. There are no shadows on his face, every gesture of his conveys the joy of living. Over the past six years he has dealt with melanoma, three surgeries and several rounds of aggressive therapies, experiencing the darkness of deep, drug-induced depression. After the removal of the tissues affected by the tumor she also had to deal with severe lymphedema, for which it seemed impossible to find a cure and which, at just over thirty years old, made her feel very uncomfortable. When the horizon was dark, the adverse circumstances, the lost road, Milena could have despaired, instead she gritted her teeth and chose to resist. Time has proved her right, her life has changed, and today she can tell it without regrets. Indeed, in his words there is a hint of satisfaction: “It’s true – he explains -, I suffered, going through a lot of pain, but along the way I found the best version of myself”.
