Local Health Authority and CGIL Propose Alternative to Forlanini’s Use
For several months, the use of the Forlanini complex has once again become a hot topic among political forces. This debate is taking place close to the next European elections and is based on journalistic indiscretions and regional press statements. The discussion revolves around a memorandum between the government, the Lazio Region, and Bambino Gesù, which is set to acquire the use of the entire complex.
The Forlanini complex has seen various individual and collective subjects in the field over the years and the production of disparate initiatives, sometimes unrealistic, sometimes instrumental. After the passage of the Forlanini to the regional heritage and made available for sale, the cornerstones of a clear action aimed at repositioning the Forlanini as an asset of the Lazio Regional Health Service were the Committee for the Forlanini common good and the CGIL of the territory.
The regional CGIL with actions and demonstrations determined the conditions that made it possible to prepare a precise union proposal for the health and social-health refunctionalization of the Forlanini and the opening of negotiations with the Zingaretti council.
The proposal from the CGIL aims to reopen the entire structure and presents an alternative to the current plans to hand over the Forlanini to IRCCS Bambin Gesù.
The CGIL has not changed its opinion and believes that the transfer of a public asset that the community of the city of Rome and the SSR need is a choice to be opposed with all means. The organization advocates for a choice shared with the citizens and not an agreement on their heads.
With a detailed “Forlanini” platform, the CGIL, together with the Forlanini Committee for the common good, was the basis for negotiations with the Region, which need to be resumed today where it was interrupted after the agreement on the two first points of the RSA and the Casa della Salute.
The proposal from the CGIL presents an alternative to the current plans for the use of the Forlanini complex, and it is important for citizens to know this well in order to support it.
The Rocca council, like the previous one, shows that it does not like comparisons, preferring a self-referential working method and practicing a disintermediation not even veiled by formalisms.
