Ask:“Grand Theft Auto 3” is a turning point for this series of games, because it transforms from the original top-down perspective to a 3D environment in which the player is fully immersed, and uses a non-linear gaming experience. What challenges does this transition bring to you?

answer:After the game becomes a 3D environment, the entire immersive experience is changed, and the player is suddenly in the game world instead of in a bird’s-eye view. This has greatly changed our perspective on game production. We need a more meticulous world where players can have a panoramic view of the surrounding scenery and interact with other people and things at close range. This allows us to have different expectations for the movie effects and the degree of connection that the game can present, and it also allows us to discard some of the established elements of the game.

In order to achieve the results we want, we need a physics engine that allows the vehicle to have a closer connection with the game world and the various objects in it. We want players to be able to immerse themselves in the situation, trigger tasks in person, and let them talk to game characters as if they were talking to people in life or work. We want to give the game a height and let players experience it in this environment. Some of these elements can be found in 2D games, but the sense of distance and bird’s-eye view make these games much easier to make. answer:When we start to imagine how to immerse players in the game world, how they interact with the game world and the characters in it, this begins to reflect how the production team sees the whole world. After the player and vehicle experience deepens, we must improve other aspects of the game in order to achieve unprecedented realism. The music and sound effects team helped create this new space for players to be more immersive, and music and talk show radio stations took this gaming experience to a whole new level. Whether it’s playing existing music, such as the Double Clef FM radio station that exclusively broadcasts classical music, or the Flashback radio station that plays popular music in the 80s, or even writing songs for a specific station internally, GTAIII’s musical approach to this The game series was not only a turning point, but also allowed the team to continue to make progress in this area ever since.

answer:The reason why we made “Grand Theft Auto 3” like this is because this is a game we have always wanted to play. We think this is very cool, but in fact we have no idea how other people will think of such a game. We know that there has never been a game like this, but we don’t know if other people’s views on it will be the same as ours, we just know that we want to share this excitement with everyone. We still remember that when we exhibited this game and other Rockstar games at E3, “State of Emergency” became the focus of the audience. At that time, we were deeply shocked, but we could only reinvigorate and use this as our motivation.

Can you really expect these things? I think you can feel that a certain work is good, but to have a huge impact all over the world, it takes the right time and place. We are very grateful that players love this game as much as I do.
