IMPORTANT OBJECTIVES ACHIEVED BY THE CONA HOSPITAL INTENSIVE THERAPY

The Operational Unit of Hospital Anesthesia and Resuscitation of the Cona hospital (Acting Director Dr. Milo Vason) achieved important therapeutic objectives during 2023.

In particular, positive results have been obtained on good use of antibiotics and pharmacovigilance (thanks also to the fruitful collaboration with the Infectious Diseases Operational Unit and the Microbiology Laboratory), especially aimed at infection controlconfirming the attention and care that medical, nursing and OSS staff employ daily in carrying out their work.

Also for the past year, theGiViTI accreditation (Italian Group for the Evaluation of Infections in Intensive Care), the result of the results of the Prosafe projects, Light Infection Surveillanceand of the twenty-year collaboration with the Mario Negri Institute of Pharmacological Research.

Prosafe is a European project that provides intensive care units with a method to measure their performance in a rigorous and continuous manner, through the analysis of factors that can contribute to improving clinical performance. Infection Surveillance Light, on the other hand, collects information on the microorganisms isolated and responsible for a specific infection. Both for “Profase” and “Surveillance” the data of the Operational Unit were in line with the best national and European centres.

Furthermore, hospital resuscitation focused onimplementation of the use of total parenteral nutrition bags personalized (used in patients who cannot feed themselves enterally), thanks to the collaboration with the Hospital Pharmacy.

Finally, very stimulatingorgan and tissue donation activity “with a still heart” and “with a beating heart”. All supported by the Provincial Donations Coordination of the Ferrara Healthcare Companies.
