PALERMO – The first “Flyeye” telescope in Europe for the detection of “dangerous” asteroids will be installed in Isnello, on the Madonie. The project, as well as the necessary building permits and access routes to the top of Monte Mufara, which will host this advanced space technology, similar to the compound eye of a fly, was discussed during a videoconference meeting between the president of the Sicilian Region. , Nello Musumeci, the regional councilor for the Territory and the Environment, Toto Cordaro, the president of the Italian Space Agency, Giorgio Saccoccia, and the mayor of Isnello, Marcello Catanzaro.
