iPhone 13 and more: what to expect at the Apple event tomorrow

by admin

California Streaming, a reference to the very famous California Dreamin’ by Mamas And Papas. On Apple’s invitation there is only this writing and the famous Apple logo against the backdrop of a mountain range and a lake. Even augmented reality does not help to discover more, so all that remains is to rely on the rumors of specialized sites. The appointment will be held on September 14th at 7 pm Italian and will still be entirely online due to the pandemic: it is the most important event of the year for Apple as the product line for the Christmas shopping season is unveiled. So here are all the previews on tomorrow’s event.

iPhone 13

  • Design. A year after the redesign of the iPhone 12, no major changes are expected: the family will most likely remain the same, with 4 models and three different screen sizes: 5.4 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches, divided in iPhone and iPhone Pro. The main change will be a smaller notch at the top of the display, where the cameras and sensors for Face ID are located.
  • Camera. As always, there will be improvements and innovations here. It will come, opens a video version of Portrait mode, a new filter system to apply different styles to photos, and a higher quality video recording for the Pro models. As for the hardware, there is still talk of three lenses on the Pro models. and two on regular models.
  • Processor There is no year without a new chip. But this time it will not be the M1, as on the iPad Pro, but the usual A series processor, only faster: it should be called, without too much imagination, A15. Of course, expect a new A15 chip.
  • Memory. It seems that Apple can eliminate the 64 GB model, actually inadequate for a smartphone like the iPhone, and introduce a new cut for the versions, Pro, even 1 TB.
  • Screen. At least on the Pro models, a new LTPO (Low Temperature Polycrystalline Oxide) technology should be adopted on the Pro models. And perhaps it should increase the refresh rate, to bring the iPhone into line with the competition.
  • Connectivity. 5G was introduced last year, but this time around the most significant new feature of the iPhone 13 could be the ability to connect to satellite networks. Apple will most likely introduce the necessary hardware, but the feature is unlikely to be active right away, as agreements with operators are required. Attention, the iPhone will not become a satellite phone, but it can send emergency messages and SOS signals. However, a function of great importance.
  • Availability. If Apple respects its usual schedule, pre-orders will start on Friday 17th and the iPhone 13, at least in some models, could go on sale on September 24th.

Apple Watch Series 7

  • Design: Flat screen, orthogonal edges, a bit like the iPhone. Or the iPad. Or the iMac. Or the next MacBook pro. There will also be, as always, new redesigned matching straps and dials.
  • Screen. No longer 40 and 44 millimeters, but 41 and 45 millimeters. The new displays will be larger, with 16% more pixels, and a resolution of 396 by 484.
  • Processor Faster: Again, an updated version of the current one: it will be called S7 in all likelihood.
  • Functions. No new health sensors or innovative features of any significance are expected this year. Last year Apple introduced oxygen saturation monitoring, while in 2018 it added the ability to record an ECG. For the future, the Cupertino company is working on three main parameters: body temperature, blood pressure and blood glucose reading.

The rest
In addition to the iPhone and the Watch, which are practically certain, it is very likely that the event of 14 September is an opportunity to launch the new AirPods entry-level, with a redesigned charging case and a design similar to the AirPods Pro. The third generation of Apple’s wireless earbuds will therefore be the one with the biggest changes since it was introduced in 2016.

We might also see a iPad mini redesigned and the9th generation iPadAlso in this case, the change in design could be significant, and for the smaller model it would be a small revolution. Still, there is a lot of anticipation for the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches with the new M1X chip, MagSafe magnetic charging, miniLED screens and new design without Touch Bar. They will arrive in the coming weeks, but it is not clear if Apple has planned a special event.

The controversies
The event comes after tough weeks for Apple. The company delayed controversial child protection features after intense criticism from privacy and security experts. Apple has announced a number of recent changes to the App Store policy, albeit only slightly addressed to the concerns of developers. And with the proposed legislation in several countries, the increased regulatory scrutiny, the verdict in the Epic Games trial against Apple, could soon change the very way Apple operates. The other day, a federal court ordered Apple to allow app developers to direct consumers to external payment methods for mobile applications, in a ruling that is a blow to the iPhone maker who collects 20 from the App Store. billions a year with a profit margin of over 75%. Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers granted an Apple-requested injunction against Epic Games ordering the game maker to pay damages to Apple for breach of contract. But in the ruling, the judge also states that the Cupertino-based company is no longer allowed to prohibit developers from providing links that, if used, divert consumers from Apple’s purchasing system. Judge Rogers has ordered to change the way the App Store operates, while asking Epic to pay damages to Apple in this lawsuit. Cupertino was right on 9 of the 10 points of the dispute but lost on how to purchase on the App Store.
