Those who join a gym often not only want to tone their figure, but also burn as many calories as possible in a short time.

But not every device is suitable for this. There are three devices you should avoid if your primary goal is to burn fat.

1. Bone stretcher

The leg extension device trains the quadriceps. As a rule, all you have to do is sit on the device and stretch your legs up with the weight and back again.

It’s not really challenging. Workouts without weights, such as squats, are much better. With this exercise you not only train the leg muscles, but also get your fat metabolism going.

2. Bicep curl machine

Here you sit on the device and pull down the handles – so you push your biceps against the resistance.

There is not a lot of movement involved with this device.

It’s better to train your biceps with free weights, such as a barbell. You work up a sweat.

3. Abdominal press

Although you can train your abdominal muscles with the abdominal press, it doesn’t offer much variety.

Challenge your muscles better with different exercises on the mat. These can be crunches, but also planks or push-ups.
