Martusciello: “Never went against Sarri”
In reference to the quote that appeared this morning in a newspaper, coach Giovanni Martusciello specifies on Lazio’s official website: “I have never uttered words that could go against the team, against Sarri, for whom I have deep respect, or other members. I simply gave my availability to the Company, which offered me this possibility. The work that has been completed so far cannot be diminished, just as no one will be able to undermine the commitment that will be further made from now on”.

Martusciello, his experiences as a coach
Giovanni Martusciello took his first steps as a coach in Empoli, as Ettore Donati’s assistant in the Tuscan club’s Primavera team. Then, the move to the first team alongside Salvatore Campilongo. From June 2010 to summer 2016 he will be the right-hand man of Maurizio Sarri, for 132 matches, Alfredo Aglietti, Marco Giampaolo, Guido Carboni and Bepi Pillon. In the 2016/17 season, he effectively became the coach of president Corsi’s first team, lasting for an entire championship with an average of 0.88 points per game. Subsequently, the experiences alongside Luciano Spalletti, on the Inter bench, and Maurizio Sarri, at Andrea Agnelli’s Juventus and Claudio Lotito’s Lazio.
