Multiple sclerosis, National Aism Legacies Week begins – Lifestyles

The twentieth edition of the ‘National Week of Legacies of Aism’, the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association, kicks off, scheduled from today until January 28th. The initiative, a part of the national campaign ‘The Future is You’, is carried out in collaboration and with the patronage of the National Council of Notaries and with the support of the National Federation of Pensioners CISL and aims to raise public awareness of the charitable legacies to support the people with multiple sclerosis (a disease that affects 137 thousand people in Italy), neuromyelitis optica and related pathologies. Data in hand, according to the survey conducted by Walden Lab-Eumetra for the Solidarity Testament Committee, 21% of over 50s, equal to 5.5 million Italians, have already planned or are interested in making a solidarity bequest. While the undecided increases to 35%, with 70% of Italians who would involve their closest relatives in the decision.

To facilitate the choice, information meetings are planned in over 50 Italian cities during which the public will be able to delve deeper into delicate issues related to testamentary successions and life insurance policies and joint bequests, and an online event scheduled for January 30th at 5pm to which it will be possible to register via the link Aism.it/eventolasciti.

There are several possibilities to contribute to the initiative. Depending on the legacy, an orientation desk can be activated for people living with MS; purchase a portable cardiopulmonary diagnostic device, finance an annual scholarship for a young researcher engaged in studies on MS or purchase an equipped minibus for transport. The calendar of meetings, the free guide to bequests and information on the AISM National Week of Bequests 2024 are available on the toll-free number 800-094464 and on the website of the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association.
