Non-self-sufficiency, Confcooperative Sanità applauds the implementation

One of the first to intervene on the government provision on non-self-sufficiency is the president of Confcooperative Sanità and the Cooperativa Osa of Rome (home care), Giuseppe Milanese.

The right to treatment at home

«The Government», said Milanese in a note relaunched on his LinkedIn profile, «this afternoon approved the legislative decree that implements the law to reform care for non-self-sufficient elderly people. Resources allocated for one billion over the next two years which will be useful, among other salient aspects, to ensure our elderly people have the right to be treated in their own homes with adequate standards of care. It is a first big step for which, in different ways and with different functions, Confcooperative Sanità has worked responsibly over the last decade, trying to bring together all the political forces around this important project”.

According to Milanese, «acknowledgment must be given to the Government in office and particularly to the deputy minister Maria Teresa Bellucci to have demonstrated acute sensitivity to a necessary issue such as the quality of health in old age and an equal ability to address the problem on a regulatory and financial level”.

Which organizations

Osa, born in Rome in 1985, is present in Lazio, Lombardy, Abruzzo, Puglia, Sicily, Sardinia and Campania, with over 3 thousand worker-members and around 2 thousand employees, assisting almost 50 thousand patients at home every year.
In 2017, Confcooperative Sanità brought together over 370 entities with 140 thousand members and a turnover of 10.5 billion.
