Construction Begins on Doubling of San Donato Polyclinic
The long-awaited construction project to double the size of the San Donato Polyclinic has officially begun. The project, which is expected to take approximately 36 months to complete, will see the construction of a new block adjacent to the existing structure, known as the “flywheel body”.
In preparation for the construction, companies have been completing the access ramp for trucks that will shuttle to the area. Additionally, an esplanade has been created with some demolitions to accommodate the maxi investment of the San Donato Group. The formal delivery of the works to the Gksd edil company is expected in mid-February, as they have been chosen as the general contractor for the project.
The project, which has been discussed in the area for about fifteen years, comes with a hefty price tag of around 90 million euros. The goal is to adapt the local hospital to the requirements requested by the Lombardy Region for accreditation, which includes the addition of two-bed rooms equipped with toilets.
The doubling of the San Donato Polyclinic is a significant investment in the community’s healthcare infrastructure and is expected to provide improved facilities for patients and staff. As work begins in the coming weeks, the San Donato Polyclinic looks to the future with anticipation and excitement for the positive impact this expansion will have on the community.
