Gyms and swimming pools, students can access without a green pass during curricular hours
Recently the Department for Sport, with a dedicated FAQ, specified the legislation regarding the green pass. The gyms and swimming pools outside the schools can be used by students during curricular hours, in areas where access to the facilities is generally allowed.
In cases where a regular contract is stipulated between the school and the swimming pool / gym, the latter can be considered as an extension of the school premises and the activity carried out within it as part of the normal curricular hours.
Therefore, access to the students will be allowed under the same conditions provided for by the legislation for access to the school complex, i.e. without COVID-19 Green Certification.
The activities organized by ASD / SSD in out-of-school hours in school gyms are similar to those carried out in any other gym and therefore fall within the suspension provision where provided for by the law.
The school gyms will be able to host, behind closed doors and in compliance with the protocols issued by the respective national sports federations, associated sports disciplines and sports promotion bodies, the training sessions and competitions of competitive athletes, professionals and non-professionals, of individual sports and of teams participating in competitions of national interest, in the professional and amateur sectors, specified in art. 18 of the Prime Ministerial Decree of 2 March 2021 and any subsequent amendments.
