Pozzolo case, gun license a few days before New Year’s Eve. The carabinieri announced that they “did not have any useful elements for evaluation”

A weapons license on which the Carabinieri had no elements of evaluation and which had the approval of the Prefecture, the one owned by the deputy Emanuele Pozzolo. The deputy had been licensed to carry weapons for personal defense since mid-December. The provincial command of the Carabinieri specified that it had communicated “that it was not in possession of useful elements for evaluation” regarding the needs represented by the parliamentarian for the issuing of authorization by the Prefecture. As already known, Pozzolo had other weapons in his house in Vercelli, by virtue of the gun license for sporting use which he already owned.

The opinion (without elements of evaluation) relating to the alleged need for personal defense for Pozzolo had been provided by the military of Biella, competent for the territory, as the parliamentarian had established his residence in Campiglia Cervo since the autumn of 2022, therefore in the area , the town near Rosazza, place of the end of year party. The reason for the request to carry weapons for defense appears to be the fear of retaliation following participation in a conference on the situation of Christians in Iran.
