UDINE. Farewell to a distinguished hematologist who has spent most of his career studying chronic myeloid leukemia.

Professor Michele Baccarani, 79, from Bologna by birth but from Udine by adoption, passed away on Monday 20 December at the Bologna hospital due to a sudden deterioration in his health conditions.

Baccarani was a point of reference for many patients and colleagues, who remember him as a trained professional, a person always available for discussion.
