San Fior, integrated medicine nurse ends up in the emergency room because of a patient. Drusian: “Let’s be protected”

The story of the attack of a nurse at the headquarters of integrated group medicine in San Fior shook the local population, once again turning the spotlight on this reality which in recent months has been the subject of many disputes.

Around 7.15 pm yesterday, a man, who had turned to the facility in via Mel Isidoro for a certificate of illness that he did not obtain, clung to the wrist of a nurse who was holding the triage form.

The woman, who after the attack went to the emergency room of the Vittorio Veneto hospital, suffered a sprained trauma to the wrist and a contracture of the trapezius muscle, but today’s X-ray gave negative results.

Doctor Francesco Benazzi, general manager of Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana, was informed of the incident and now the measures of the local health company are awaited, as well as a possible report from the nurse.

For some time there has been a climate of tension in the integrated group medicine of San Fior, also fueled by attacks on social networks by exasperated patients and by news events, as in the case of the Nas intervention due to the presence of some expired medicines .

“I’m really sorry for what happened – said the mayor Joseph Maset – There is a lot of nervousness in the population, but this tense climate does not help to improve things. The difficulty in communicating and giving answers to citizens has created this unease. I am constantly in contact with the ULSS and I have asked to send another doctor to the village, but at the moment there is a lack of health”.

Four of the five doctors present in the integrated group medicine of San Fior have agreed to the request of Ulss 2 Marca Trevigiana to increase the ceiling up to 1,800 patients to also cover those who were previously followed by Dr. Visentin, who has retired.

“The situation is complex but now there is no need for controversy – adds Maset – We are trying to intervene on a case-by-case basis: I am close to the citizens and I am responding to their messages. My goal is to find solutions through sharing and not through war. This difficulty in approaching the doctors has made everything more complicated and in the past I had also asked to close everything, so that everyone would return to their clinic to improve the situation, but the only way forward is that of dialogue and listening, which now are missing”.

The doctor Elizabeth Drusian, general practitioner on duty in the San Fiorese facility and regional press officer of the Snami (Italian Autonomous National Union of Italian Doctors) Veneto, confirmed that, after the retirement of some doctors who worked in San Fior, Ulss 2 asked for an increase in ceiling of patients to the doctors of the integrated group medicine of the country.

“The attacks against our category continue – explains Dr. Drusian – The spirits must be placated and, also in the light of what has happened, we doctors must be protected and protected. The request for a new doctor, made by the mayor of San Fior, has not yet found an answer from the Ulss but I want to emphasize that it is not true that in our structure we do not answer the phone: in 85% of cases we give a response to patients within two days”.
