Fiscozen, Dante Medical Solutions, Step 4 Business, enGenome, Voiseed, Sibill, Emotiva and Herbolea are the 8 new startups that have entered the Startup Database di Italian Tech launched on 23 September last (here the explanation of the reasons and objectives). Here is more in detail who they are and how they grow.
Fiscozen is a startup which has developed a platform to manage the online VAT number. Founded in 2017 by Enrico Mattiazzi, Fabio Ciotoli and Vito Lomele, in 2020 it closed a capital increase of 3 million euros. The round was led by United Ventures, along with seed and business angel investors already present in the company.
Dante Medical Solutions is a pharmaceutical company innovative that offers products in the food supplement market. Founded in 2015 by Giorgio Pautrie, in 2020 it closed a 3 million round with a group of private investors, including Zlatan Ibrahimovi ?.
Step 4 Business is a startup which has developed a series of solutions designed for small and medium-sized enterprises, to meet the needs of entrepreneurs and companies. Founded in 2020 by Marco Montagnani, Nuno Couceiro and Alberto Almoguera, in the same year it closed an 8.5 million seed round led by Gruppo Azimuth, CRIF and Gellify.
enGenome is a spin-off of the University of Pavia which develops software for the diagnosis of genetic diseases. In October 2021, it raised 3.7 million euros, partly non-repayable and partly in equity, winning a call from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator. The startup was founded in 2016 Pavia by Susanna Zucca, Ettore Rizzo and Ivan Limongelli.
Voiseed is a startup who developed artificial intelligence software to generate expression-rich virtual voices in various languages. In October 2021, it raised 3 million euros, partly non-repayable and partly in equity, winning a call from the European Innovation Council Accelerator. The startup was founded in 2020 in Milan by Andrea Ballista and Luca Dell’Orto and accelerated by Berkeley SkyDeck, the accelerator of the University of Berkeley.
Sibill is a startup which has developed a platform for the intelligent management of corporate liquidity. In November 2021, it raised 500,000 euros in a round led by the Danish venture builder Founders and participated by a group of business angels
Emotiva is a startup which measures people’s emotional responses through computer vision and machine learning algorithms that identify micro-movements of the face. In November 2021 it closed a 610 thousand euro round led by LVenture Group and participated by a consortium of business angels. The startup, founded in Milan in 2017 by Lorenzo Corbo, Andrea Lordi and Andrea Sempi, had closed a pre-seed round of 110 thousand euros again with LVenture in January 2020.
Herbolea is a startup which has developed a low environmental impact technology to extract the active ingredients from cannabis plants. In November 2021, it closed a € 5 million Series A round led by the French pharmaceutical cannabis fund Óskare Capital (which invested € 2.5 million). The company, founded in 2017 in Sesto Fiorentino (Florence), is led by Marco Merciai.
