Study reveals disturbing link between clothing and some diseases

What if your favorite sweater was the cause of your ailments? Hard to believe: yet it is precisely this disturbing idea that is supported by a study.

Obviously it’s not just the look that kills but also the clothes. This is what one study supports with a little more nuance. He states that, although some disorders are the sign of a pathology that can sometimes be serious, they can also find their explanation in our wardrobe.

Sudden itching, dizziness repeated, worrying numbness, everything suggests that you have caught the virus of the moment… However, not necessarily according to one study from Harvard University. As unlikely as it may seem, the explanation may lie in your clothes.

Bisphenol A, polyfluoroalkyl substances… Numerous chemical agents are included in the composition or are used to treat the fabrics used to make the clothes we will wear. The persistence in nature and in the body of these substances can cause multiple health problems: injuries, thyroid diseases, fertility problems and even cancer.

Added to this are also the worries that can be caused by the way we wear them. This is the case, for example, of Abbey Clancy, a 38-year-old British woman. Due to the chronic numbness in her legs, she was convinced she was suffering from sclerosis. A doctor informed him that this was not the case. The problem was the jeans attillati too tight that he always wore.

Killer clothing

Researchers have identified several problems that can arise from the way we wear our clothes:

necktie: too narrow, prevents a good blood supply to the brain;

high heels: they accentuate the backache;
