The eighth edition of ‘Lemons for research’ is underway – Medicine

The eighth edition of “i Limoni per la Ricerca” is underway, a project created thanks to the collaboration between the Umberto Veronesi Ets Foundation and Citrus l’Orto Italiano, which finances – according to a note – the work of doctors and researchers who have decided to dedicate their lives to scientific research.


The initiative, scheduled from 3 to 16 March, provides that Sicilian lemons of the primofiore variety, called in this way because they are obtained from the first flowering of the plants, will be sold in special 500 gram nets distributed throughout Italy in supermarkets, hypermarkets and discount stores that participate. With the solidarity activity, for each retina put on sale at a cost of 2 euros, Citrus will donate 40 cents to the Umberto Veronesi Ets Foundation to finance researchers.


The initiative is supported by Federdistribuzione, which has made it possible to finance – thanks to previous editions – the annual work of 45 doctors and researchers.
