The Senate of the Republic Shows Support for Endometriosis Awareness Day
In a show of solidarity and support, the Senate of the Republic has joined the initiative “Let’s shed light on endometriosis” as part of Endometriosis Awareness Day. The facade of Palazzo Madama, the historical building that houses the Senate, will be illuminated in yellow from sunset today, March 28th, until dawn tomorrow, March 29th.
Endometriosis is a chronic and often debilitating condition that affects millions of women worldwide. It occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside of it, leading to a variety of symptoms including severe pelvic pain, menstrual irregularities, and infertility.
By lighting up Palazzo Madama in yellow, the Senate is not only showing its support for those affected by endometriosis but also raising awareness about the condition. The initiative aims to spark conversations about endometriosis, reduce stigma, and promote early detection and treatment.
This gesture from the Senate sends a powerful message of solidarity and support to all those who are living with endometriosis. It serves as a reminder that more needs to be done to improve the diagnosis and treatment of this often misunderstood condition.
