The 11th Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival 2024 (TICFF) kicked off with an opening tea party, marking its return to physical theaters after six years. The festival will take place at Taipei Xinyi Weixiuying from March 29th to April 7th, showcasing nearly 100 best films from around the world.

The festival, with the theme “Explore the infinite possibilities of the world and people, Make it Possible.”, invites parents and children to enjoy high-quality children’s films from various countries during the upcoming Children’s Day holidays. The opening film, “Thank You, See You Again”, and the closing film, “Family Time Travel Project”, promise to captivate audiences with their award-winning storytelling.

Chairman Hu Yuanhui of the Public Television Group expressed excitement for the international exchange forum being held this year. He hopes that the collaboration between domestic and foreign children’s content production teams will lead to enriching future works and the launch of a Children’s channel on Public Television in August.

Curator Guo Yunling emphasized the diversity and quality of the festival’s lineup, showcasing works recognized by prestigious film festivals worldwide. Additionally, more than 10 international directors and producers have been invited for post-screening discussions, offering insights into film production for young viewers.

As the festival celebrates its 20th anniversary, it continues to promote emerging Taiwanese directors and cultivate talent in the industry. Works shortlisted for the “Taiwan Award” have garnered international acclaim, with some receiving accolades such as the Golden Horse Award.
