“We see the metaverse as a continuum that crosses the spectrum between digitally extended worlds, realities and models, applied to all aspects of the business and across entire organizations – explains Mauro Macchi, CEO of Accenture Italy -. This evolution will redefine the ways of interacting with the customer, the way of working, building and distributing products and services. The evolution of the metaverse will further push the phenomenon of hybridization of skills and professions ».

This is why companies, at this moment, cannot ignore experimenting, understanding evolution, trying to be there and find new forms of behavior. Going beyond the legitimate doubts about the possibility that this world will become the dominant one and that it truly populates people and services.

In this context, Accenture identifies four key trends that companies are called upon to manage.

First of all, the “WebMe” that brings the Me to the center of the metaverse: a persistent 3D environment in which to move from one “place” to another will be as simple as walking from one room to another, under the banner of interoperability and data portability.

Secondly, a “Programmable World“, with digital environments increasingly integrated into the physical world, through technologies that, in parallel with the evolution ofengagement of users with these worlds, will also redefine everything that is built within them, the way people perceive and interact, as well as the control they have over them.
