The Gaggetto area of Laveno Mombello has a new addition to its public spaces – an open-air gym. The inauguration of the gym took place on a sunny and cold morning on Saturday, 13 December, with several young people in attendance for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Mayor of Laveno Mombello, Luca Santagostino, also graced the event with his presence.
This new gym is part of the municipal administration’s project to make the area more livable and accessible to all citizens. It is a part of the “Young Laghèe” project, which aims to make the town a more attractive and enjoyable place for young people. The project is co-financed by the Department of Youth Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers through the ANCI “Fermenti in Comune” tender.
The initiative involved the Municipal Council of Young people from the lakeside town, who identified the areas to invest around 20 thousand euros in activities of interest to children. The open-air gym is just one of the many projects aimed at making Laveno Mombello a more youth-friendly and inclusive place.
The introduction of the open-air gym is a step towards creating a healthier and more active community in Gaggetto. It provides a space for residents to engage in physical activity, improving their wellbeing and quality of life. The efforts of the municipal administration and the Young Laghèe project are commendable, as they work to create a more vibrant and inclusive community for all citizens.
