While we await the final publication of the decree that will specifically identify the requirements for obtaining the psychologist bonus, we already know various information on the amount of the bonus.
In fact, the benefit will be granted to those who have an ISEE not exceeding 50,000 euros. The bonus will not be the same for everyone but those with lower incomes will receive a more substantial bonus.
The bonus should cover approximately 12 sessions, considering that the maximum amount due is equal to 600 euros and the explanatory report of the Milleproroghe decree considers the cost of a session to be approximately 50 euros.
In our opinion at Investire Oggi, this is an optimistic forecast. The market prices for each session at the psychologist are much higher.
Having said that, let’s take stock of the situation as of today, May 3.
The psychologist bonus
The psychologist bonus was established with article 1-quater, paragraph 3 of Legislative Decree 228/2021, the so-called Milleproroghe decree.
The decree provides for a contribution to support the expenses related to psychotherapy sessions that can be used by private specialists regularly registered in the list of psychotherapists in the register of psychologists.
The contribution is established in the maximum amount of 600 euro per person.
The bonus is not the same for everyone. In fact, 600 euros is only a theoretical amount. In fact, the bonus decreases as the ISEE increases. The contribution is not due to people with ISEE higher than 50,000 euros.
Psychologist Bonus, what requirements?
Last week, Minister Speranza announced that the implementing decree of the psychologist bonus is in the pipeline. This is an important novelty.
Soon, therefore, the long-awaited bonus will be fully operational.
Soon, INPS will make available a special online portal that will allow the registration of both private users and professionals.
In the technical report of the decree it is explained that:
on the assumption of a minimum fee for a psychotherapy session at a private specialist that is around 50 euros, the maximum contribution of 600 euros per person will allow for 12 sessions and therefore, the overall funding provided allows to satisfy an audience approximately 16,000 people.
From here, assuming a weekly session, the average duration of the treatment covered by the bonus is three months.
