The theater rises to altitude

Open-air stages in front of the peaks. Not only those of the concerts at high altitude, which for some years have been very popular throughout the Alps. The novelty of this summer are the theatrical performances. Monologues in mountain huts, plays set up in woods or huts to be reached with boots on or in suggestive alpine places full of history, which are already a spectacle in themselves.

From Mont Blanc to the Dolomites, here are four events that deserve a ticket, which is always free. In Valle d’Aosta the first edition of the Insoliti festival continues until 8 August, like the places where three theatrical performances (Heidi Project, Mucche Ballerine, Licheni) dedicated to the mountains are staged: mountain pastures, meadows of castles, sanctuaries. In Piedmont, the Scenario Montagna festival aims to raise awareness of the peaks of the territory through 25 events in seven municipalities between Val di Susa, Val Chisone and Val Pellice: from thematic excursions to itinerant shows to concerts in the refuge.

Exciting is the show I guardiani del Nanga, which the Mitmacher company brings from 29 July to 6 August in front of the huts of the Sentiero Roma in Valmasino and the Alta via della Valmalenco. Actor Nicola Ciaffoni tells the stories of seven climbers who have challenged their limits by leaving their lives on the Pakistani Ottomila: from Albert Mummery to Daniele Nardi and Tom Ballard.
