The specific training course in general medicine for the three-year period 2020/2023 kicked off yesterday in ATS Bergamo with the inauguration day (these are the students who will finish in 2024 due to the year of Covid which affected the regular trend of the course itself). The 25 students were welcomed by the representatives of ATS Bergamo, of the three ASSTs (Pope John XXIII, East and West), of Polis Lombardia and representatives of the accredited private sector, the president of the Bergamo Medical Association.
“With this course we continue in the training of general practitioners of which the local health system (but also regional and national) is in dire need – comments Massimo Giupponi, general manager of ATS Bergamo – The Covid19 pandemic has shown with highlights how these professionals are essential for better and more widespread health, also in view of the provisions of the PNRR (National Resilience Resilience Plan) for health. I wish these young doctors and doctors a fruitful journey in the principals of the Bergamo area in which they will find themselves practicing and I hope that they will fall in love with our territory deciding, at the end of the journey, to establish their professional future here “.
36 months the duration of the general medicine course
The course, aimed at training general practitioners, lasts 36 months, includes 3,200 hours of practical training (in the ASST and accredited private sector, in the RSAs and in the territory), and 1,600 hours of theoretical training. The didactic coordinator is Dr. Anna Pozzi, while the director of the didactic pole is the general manager of ATS Bergamo Massimo Giupponi.
