Meta apps in trouble
From 16.25 this afternoon, in fact, all the applications for Facebook, Instagram e WhatsApp. It is the Meta apps, in essence, that report problems. At the moment the technicians of the company headed by Mark Zuckerberg have not yet announced anything, but the reports from users continue to arrive.
According to what was reported by the users of the aforementioned social platforms, at the moment it would be impossible to access the platforms, as well as chat or send messages. The profiles are locked, and nothing would be possible to do. We are already talking about thousands and thousands of reportsbut at the moment everything is silent at Meta, the causes of the disservice are not known.
Problems since yesterday
WhatsApp, actually, is having problems since yesterday evening, and not only in Italy. The main instant messaging platform has presented disservices globally, with many reports. In our country the first messages from worried and impatient users began to arrive around 19:20. Internet users met on Twitter to exchange opinions and talk about their situation. Many explaining that they are no longer able to access the application.
Until 20:30, the online portal Downdetector kept logging issues related to whatsapp. It was above all in the big Italian cities that the outages occurred. Reports, however, have come from all over the world, from the United Kingdom to the United States of America, up to India and Pakistan. Instead of having the problems fixed, it appears that Meta is still in difficulty, given that today Instagram and Facebook are also presenting disservices.
What are the main problems
By examining the Downdetector page and going into more detail, we note that Instagram has had a peak of reports around 5pm. Among the problems reported, 51% concern the loading of the page, 39% the application and 10% the website. As for Facebook, the reports were sent at the same time. 64% of the problems are loading pages, 33% connecting to the server and 3% accessing the profile. Finally, WhatsApp has been recording problems since yesterday, with a new peak today: 53% concern the application, 24% send messages and 23% the website.
